In 2017 Public Tour presented its programmes to thousands of students across high schools on the Gold Coast presenting a transformational message of hope through rappers and guest artists.
School’s have requested information to tailor there current needs which range from bullying to healthy self image. Our aim is to inspire students to live their best lives and unlocking their full potential.
Public Youth is the youth ministry of Public Church. Our Lead Pastors, Cameron and Renee Bennett are the Youth Alive National Directors and believe young people are the future of our nation. It is our purpose to bring a message of hope and encouragement to students in need, and then go beyond this by providing genuine support through local youth groups and chaplaincy services in schools to assist teenagers realise there full potential.
SPECIAL GUEST - Marksman Lloyd
Born in Albany, WA, Rapper/ Poet/ Speaker Mark Lloyd has been writing lyrics since he was 8 years old. In his teenage years Mark discovered Hip Hop and began writing raps that conveyed the struggles of being a teenager. Mark used lyrics to help in dealing with depression and bullying through his pivotal formative years.
Moving between the art of Rap and Spoken Word Poetry (WA Poetry Slam champion and national runner-up), Mark now boasts a resume that includes shows in the U.S and Asia. He has shared the stage with Grammy award winning artists Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, as well as Peking Duk, Illy, Drapht and many more.
Mark tours and releases music as an independent artist as well as running Music and Poetry workshops for youth across the country. He speaks on a range of topics including the negative impacts of bullying and drug/ alcohol abuse. Mark emphasises the importance of embracing vulnerability and open communication in these sessions.
He does this using his own story of overcoming depression, anxiety and the subsequent alcoholism that resulted in a near death experience. Ultimately the aim of these sessions is to equip participants with coping tools, to realise the therapeutic aspects of creativity and to pursue their purpose with confidence.
